From having free-of-charge public programming, to participating in the community events like the Business Expo and Corn Carnival, we strive to show that just because we are in a small town does not mean we are afraid to think big. And those membership dollars you provide also means we don't charge admission to the museum and Akerlund Studio, a benefit we are proud of.

What Else Is My Donation Used For?
Since its opening in 1976, the historical society has worked in partnership with the City of Cokato to support the operation of the museum & studio. During a typical year, the society provides 20-25% of that total cost. Your tax-deductible membership dollars are used to fund a variety of these efforts, including:
