1968-1972
By 1968, Cokato Public School was bursting at it seams with large student numbers. A temporary solution came in the form of portable classrooms, which were added to school grounds for 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.
In 1969, the Cokato School District merged with Dassel. However, both Cokato and Dassel students remained in their separate schools, until the new Dassel-Cokato High school opened in the fall of 1972. With the new facility open, the Cokato Public School became the Cokato Elementary, housing grades K-6. |
